It Lives!

I can’t wait to get mowing, tilling, pulling or just joy riding on our vintage 1950 something Ferguson tractor that now RUNS! Thank you, Bud the best fix-it daddy in the whole world for getting it running!

i would not recommend trying to drive a tractor in a skirt or with loose hair on a regular basis: tractor safety, y’all!

Do you have a tractor on your farm? What’s your favorite “chore” to use it for?

Well, of course I do! Moving “stuff” around with the bucket is my favorite.

…and, I know you live in a fairly flat area, but roll-over protection is a great idea as well. http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/topics/aginjury/crops/

We have a selection of old tractors and crawlers as my other half is a machinery junkie!
I myself am the owner of a Ford 4100 and an old Fordson major :)
Enjoy harrowing the grass fields and having the odd crack at competition ploughing…with a little Ford Dexter.
    Enjoy the working horse power.

  4. You’re really farming now! That’s a great tractor 😀

I love doing tractor work – clearing my pastures was a real challenge. I just got done plowing for the first time and love raking hay.

Remember to always go straight down and straight up any steep hillsides – going at an angle especially with weight is a good way to flip it.

Also, always check the radiator & oil and grease your fittings regularly and if you mow hawthorne or brambles, pick them up right away. Driving over the dried branches is the best way to a flat tire…
