Welcome to Our New Farm!

And heeeere we go – the beginning of our great journey! It even came with snow!

We’ll see how long i put up with that pool table in the middle of the room…..   It’s a pretty swell place with a laundry list of projects… already! I think i’m in love. Though i could do without the dead mouse in the toilet.

Was your home “move in ready” or did you have to use a little (or a lot) of elbow grease?

  1. My first house was totally move-in-ready but I was a single girl in the city. I wasn’t having any major renovations by myself. But I suspect our homestead will be a bit of a fixer-upper too unless we somehow win the lottery! I can’t wait to see how your new place progresses though… so exciting!

The cottages on the farm had’nt been lived in for over 40 years….so we had to do everything to them to make them into one lovely home.

  3. My husband would be in heaven with that pool table – is that the living room??

We bought our house from a slumlord – does that tell you enough? We lived with roaches for several months until we finally got rid of them. For a few months after that, I still smacked every dark spot reflexively. The house has great bones, but we did a lot of work AND a major renovation. We’re still not “done” says my husband – he wants to get it to the point where we’re mostly doing maintenance.
