Well, this weekend has been MAJORLY eventful, but as our huge project of the century isn’t quite finished i will wait until next week to unveil those before and after photos. Mwa ha ha. For now – we have been the happy recipients of savvy parents and long hours of tedium!
My mama spent a day or two lifting and tightening almost all our fences around the property. All i have left to do now is place a few strategic t-stakes (many reclaimed from around a second perimeter fence) and clear some fallen brush off the back fence in order to lift that one and we’ll have a sturdy fence! Sturdy enough for llamas at least. The next big fencing project is to dig some post holes and install a ‘yard’ fence around the front to keep our little Pocket safe from speeding log trucks. She also built us some swallow houses, which are already being inspected. We need to build about 50 more as our home eaves were previously a swallow colony.
My dad spend SEVERAL days struggling with our old 1951 Ferguson tractor and got it to run! It still has a flat tire and needs some major TLC in the fuel line department but we think we’ll have a work with-able tractor pretty soon! (Though “soon” tends to be a relatively flexible description on a farm, haha.)
On my end, i assembled a nest box for Strawberry and will spend the next few days watching and waiting to see if she is in fact pregnant and if she does in fact kindle. So far she seems to be enjoying defecating in the box instead.
Stay tuned for next week’s epic post! Can you guess what we’ve been up to? Hint – our home is surrounded by piles of trash and Pocket no longer woofs at every thumping noise as she’s been surrounded by bangs and crashes for half a week…..

Wow, your tractor is even older than I am. And it works! It will be great to have a Pocket yard for safety too. Log trucks are scary.
WOW!! Your dad has indeed a great hand in handling things as he was still able to use the tractor that is almost 62 years old.

I can’t believe you got the tractor running! That is so great, and what a beauty. Oh… And I CAN guess what the next unveiling is, but I won’t spoil the surprise. Awesome!
